MORE GOOD READIN'

My new friend Robert aka Bob Slayton, Professor of History at Chapman University, author of the best book ever written about Al Smith, among other fine tomes, and recent TM recipient, has penned a terrific blog on Huffington Post about airsoft, stem cells, and his life as a hemiplegic. Check it out:

You're welcome.

But please, not from aborted fetuses. Please.

Are you concerned that taking stem cells from aborted fetuses would encourage abortions? Nobody that I know of wants that.

I don't think - at least, I certainly hope - that a woman would get pregnant solely to have the fetus aborted for research. I worry that stem cell research would be used to serve as an additional rationale for a woman already considering abortion. ("Oh, but it's really not bad because they can help people with the research.")

No one wants an abortion, I don't think. It is thrust upon them by circumstance or stupidity. The Obama approach is to reduce the need for abortions, period. That's something that cuts across political lines, no?
